First off, Iain, you're doing an absolutely brilliant job with Softrope. The interface is incredibly intuitive and 20 mins after picking it up I can see how to do everything I need it to do. Well done and thankyou for all your work.

That said I've found what looks like a small bug. When you save a module, the LoopGap and LoopGapVariance values are saved (I took the liberty of peeking at the XML in the save file, hope you don't mind :-) but they don't seem to be loaded correctly when you load it back in, so the sounds loop without any delays.

Thanks

Dr V

Summary: When both Solo and Fade Out are enabled in the Scene Editor, the Fade Out triggers immediately upon playing the scene.

Full Description: I created a new scene. The "Solo" toggle was set to "On" (red). "Fade Out" was set to "On" (red) and the slider set to "Fade out for 3.0 seconds". All options were left as default. One mp3s was loaded into the first playlist. Then I closed the Scene Editor.

When the scene is played (from either the Scene Editor or the main window) the mp3 fades out within three seconds.

Environment: Windows XP SP3 running under VMware Fusion 2.0.4 (Mac OS X 10.5.8). Softrope v. 0.2.32 and .NET framework 3.5 SP 1.

Hey-o,

I'm about to toss a small volley of bug reports your way. I feel bad so I need to preface it with the following: SOFTROPE IS AWESOME. Clean, useful UI. Just the right amount of features - not too bare bones, but not bloated. I've futzed around with a fair number of ways to get music and sounds into my games (various media players, RPG Soundmixer, RPG Audio Mixer, homebrew MySQL/PHP playlist builder, etc.) and this is looking to be the most promising. So, please keep it up!

Bug Report

Summary: when toggling on looping, the help text does not change.

Full description: Created a new Scene, toggled on Looping (button changed to yellow), but help text remained "No looping". Gap sliders were not touched and remained at the "no gap" setting. Testing revealed that the playlist was in fact looping, the help text was simply incorrect.

Next, I toggled the Looping to Off, and then back to On. At this point, the help text correctly updated to "Loop with no gap." However, if I then closed the Scene Editor and then reopened that scene again, the help text was back to "No looping".

If I use the gap sliders to set a gap of any duration, the help text is correctly updated.

Environment: Windows XP SP3 running under VMware Fusion 2.0.4 (Mac OS X 10.5.8). Perfectly possible that this is a quirk of my virtualization setup.

EDIT: This is with Softrope v. 0.2.32 and .NET framework 3.5 SP 1.

Yo. Another minor bug report for ya'.

Summary: The "Sequential" button toggle state restores to the "Off" state after the Scene Editor is closed.

Full Description: I created a new scene. The "Sequential" toggle was set to "On" (purple). All options were left as default. Two mp3s were loaded into the first playlist. Then I closed the Scene Editor. When I reopen the scene, the "Sequential" toggle is set to "Off" (gray).

Environment: Windows XP SP3 running under VMware Fusion 2.0.4 (Mac OS X 10.5.8). Softrope v. 0.2.32. EDIT: and .NET framework 3.5 SP 1.

One more bug report for ya today, also related to the Solo setting.

Summary: A scene with the Solo setting toggled On can cause Softrope to crash.

Full Description: I created a new scene. The "Solo" toggle was set to "On" (red). All other options were left as default. One mp3s was loaded into the first playlist. Then I closed the Scene Editor.

When the scene is played (from either the Scene Editor or the main window) Softrope hangs for a second, and then crashes. Detailed error event information is below:

Werd. One more.

Bug Report

Summary: A random playlist always begins playing with the first file added to the playlist.

Full Description: I created a new scene and added two short tracks to the playlist. Looping was toggled "On". All other values were left as default. Then I closed the Scene Editor.

From the main screen, I clicked once on the soundscape, and it played the desired two tracks in a suitable random order. However, after doing this a couple times, I noticed that the first track played after clicking was always the same track - the first added to the playlist. About 20 initiations later, I think it's statistically unlikely that it's just random luck :)

Not sure if that's a bug or a intended functionality. As a user, I would prefer that if I've set up a playlist to be random, that should include the first track played.

Environment: Windows XP SP3 running under VMware Fusion 2.0.4 (Mac OS X 10.5.8). Softrope v. 0.2.32 and .NET framework 3.5 SP 1.

I opened up a new scene and created two different sound effects each one having 1 sample --> A .wav file in the first one and a .mp3 file in the second.
I named the 1st sound effect then I played the scene with each sound effect having the button -Toggle sequential triggering of samples- pressed down.
Then while playing, I muted the first track and then clicked the -Toggle to predelay button- on the same track and it crashed.
